Clean up duplicates
Preview matching personal leads, choose how to retain notes, then keep the newest record in each group.
Open My Lists → Clean Up Duplicates. The ? help icon beside the dialog title opens this article in the standard Learn panel; Open in Learn → opens the full page. This tool permanently deletes matching duplicates after you review a preview and confirm. It is different from import duplicate skipping, which prevents repeat imports, and the Dashboard Duplicates filter, which only changes what you see.
Choose which leads can match
- Choose All Lists to compare across your active personal lists, or choose one list to keep the comparison within it. Archived lists, Program leads and Bought records are excluded.
- ASIN must always match. Source, Source URL, and Cost are all checked by default, so those fields must also match. You can uncheck any of them. With no extra boxes checked, matching ASINs can be grouped even when their stores or costs differ.
- Source matching follows the same matching rules and supplier-name preference as Dashboard. Wait for that preference to load before previewing.
The lead with the newest creation date is kept in each group. This is the record's creation date, not a search for the cheapest cost or best profit. Its tags, reviewed status, coupon, cashback, source details and other fields stay unchanged. Those fields from deleted records are not merged.
The surviving lead stays only in the list where that newest record already exists. With All Lists, duplicates in other lists are removed; the lists themselves remain. Unmatched leads are unchanged.
Choose Lead Notes and User Notes separately
Lead Notes are the note stored on the lead, such as a provider note. User Notes are the notes you add yourself. Each has its own choice:
| Choice | Result |
|---|---|
| Use the newest nonempty note, whichever lead it is on | Retains the newest available text even if it belongs to a record that will be deleted. |
| Combine all notes into one, in chronological order without identical repeats | Keeps the distinct note texts together in time order. |
Lead Notes use the lead's creation date to decide order. User Notes use the note's last edit date. Both default to combining notes chronologically without identical repeats. This combines distinct whole-note texts, rather than deduplicating individual lines. The preview shows the resulting Lead Note and User Note on each survivor. If your note permissions prevent safe cleanup, the preview explains why and does not allow deletion.
Review before deleting
Click Preview cleanup. Check the totals for leads checked, duplicates to delete, newest leads kept and leads with note updates. The affected-list summary shows where records will remain or be removed.
Expand each ASIN group to compare the Keep newest record with the records marked Delete. The details include their lists, creation dates, sources, URLs, costs, tags, review status, coupons, cashback and notes. Use Show more discarded leads for a large group and Previous/Next for additional groups. The confirmation count covers the entire preview, including groups on other pages.
Use Change choices if the match rules or note results are not right. When ready, type CONFIRM exactly and click Delete duplicates. This is permanent deletion, not list archiving. There is no restore step for the deleted duplicate records.
If the data changes or the reply is interrupted
If leads changed after your preview, the tool asks you to preview again before applying cleanup. Review the new result before confirming it.
If the last cleanup is unconfirmed, keep the dialog available and use Check cleanup result. It checks or retries that same cleanup operation, so a lost reply does not start a second cleanup. Do not start a fresh cleanup to guess whether the first one worked. This retry control belongs to the current page session; a full reload or sign-out can remove the pending dialog state. After a confirmed result, the success message reports how many duplicates were deleted and how many newest leads were kept.
