Import your existing buy sheet

Bring in your history from a CSV or a Google Sheet.

  1. Bought → Import → CSV or Google Sheet.
  2. Choose where the rows go: Bought or To Buy. Then the source:
    • CSV file.
    • Google Sheet link: the sheet must be shared as "Anyone with the link".
    • My Google account: pick a sheet shared only with you. Connect Google once; ASIN.so only opens the sheets you pick.
  3. Set the Header row and, for a Google Sheet, which Tabs to read. Tabs missing a column you mapped are skipped and listed.
  4. Check which field each column fills. Pick a Mapping preset, or Save preset to reuse this mapping next time. New Bought rows need ASIN, date, quantity and cost; To Buy needs only the ASIN.
  5. Preview. Nothing is saved yet. You see how many rows are new, will be updated, are unchanged, are already in ASIN.so, or can't be imported, with examples.
  6. Import. It runs in the background, so you can close the window or the page.

What happens to each row

RowWhat ASIN.so does
Has an ASIN.so IDUpdates that purchase. Only changed cells are written. A blank cell never clears anything.
No ID, already in ASIN.soSkipped. It matches a purchase on ASIN, date, supplier and cost, plus order # when the row has one.
No ID, newAdded with a new ASIN.so ID.
An ID ASIN.so doesn't knowTreated like a row with no ID.
A To Buy ID in a Bought importMarks that item bought, if date, quantity and cost are filled in.
The same ASIN.so ID on two rowsThe top row updates. Exact copies are skipped. Other rows can't be imported. Clear their ID to add them as new purchases.
The same To Buy ID twice in a Bought importThe first row marks it bought. The others can't be imported.

Note: Open the Sheets gear → Recent runs, or Settings → Import/Export, to see run results. Download rows that were not imported as a CSV with a Reason column, fix them, and import that file.

Tip: Imported from My Google account? Press Save this as a saved sheet at the end to run it again in one click or every day. See Saved Google Sheets.

Tip: After importing, the cart button turns green on any dashboard lead you have bought before, and the Replen filter and Previously Purchased list start working.
