Saved Google Sheets: Import, Append and Mirror
Sheets that stay in step with ASIN.so, every day or in one click.
A saved sheet remembers a spreadsheet, its tabs and its columns. You can save multiple destinations, with one export setup per tab and one import setup per spreadsheet in your account. An import setup can read one or several tabs; the same spreadsheet cannot have separate saved imports in My Lists and To Buy/Bought. Saving does not require a schedule. Each export destination is for To Buy or for Bought. Use the Export selection or Export all menu for a one-time send. Use the Sheets gear menu for Append Sync or Mirror Sync. A sync can run manually or on an optional daily schedule.
| Type | Use it to | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Import | Bring purchases in, or get updates back such as Received and tracking | Adds new rows and updates rows that have an ASIN.so ID. Never writes to the sheet. |
| Append Sync | Send new purchases to a prep center or buy sheet | Sends eligible orders that this saved sync has not successfully delivered before. Keeps its delivery history even if a script later moves or removes the rows. Never changes a delivered row. |
| Mirror Sync | Keep a full copy of To Buy or Bought in a sheet | Refreshes the complete managed copy. Anything typed into its active columns is replaced on the next run; removed and custom columns stay to the right. |
A sync requires the ASIN.so ID column. It identifies an individual order, not just an ASIN. A one-time export does not update sync history, so a later Append Sync can send the same order again. For an ongoing prep-center workflow, use Sync now or its schedule consistently.
If your script copies orders elsewhere and removes them from the main tab, use Append Sync. Confirmed deliveries remain recorded and are not resent just because the row disappeared. Mirror Sync restores a complete copy, so it is not suitable for a tab your script intentionally empties. If a delivery cannot be confirmed, the run needs attention rather than silently sending it again.
Connect Google
Settings → Import/Export → Sheets → Connect Google. ASIN.so can only open spreadsheets you pick in Google's file window, or ones it creates for you.
Set one up
- Settings → Import/Export → Sheets → Set up a sheet under To Buy or Bought.
- Choose what you want to do: bring purchases in or get updates from a sheet (Import), send purchases to a saved destination (Append), or keep a live copy in a sheet (Mirror).
- Pick a spreadsheet, then the tab and header row. A Mirror can start a new tab (best) or erase an existing one. An Import can read several tabs: all, 0, 0-3, 0,2,4 or tab names.
- Columns: for an Import, check which field each header fills. You can choose, save and manage import mapping presets here; applying one changes the column mappings only, leaving your selected tabs and header row unchanged. For an Append, put the columns in the same order as their sheet: drag them, switch off ones you don't need, and add blank columns where their sheet has columns ASIN.so doesn't fill. New exports start from your default export preset. You can choose another preset, save one or set a default in this mapping screen. For a Mirror, pick and order the columns the same way. Syncs always require ASIN.so ID, even when the selected preset omits it.
- Options: an Append can send only purchases on or after a start date, and only FBA, FBM or one supplier. Run daily starts off; turn it on and pick a time (Eastern) if you want automatic runs.
- Name it, up to 30 characters. For an Append destination, choose one-time exports, syncs or both. Syncs require the ASIN.so ID column.
- Save an Append destination without sending any rows. Choose Export selection, Export all or Sync now when you are ready. Import and Mirror setups retain their first-run preview and approval; Mirror approval confirms any replacement of managed sheet data.
If the destination is already saved, open its existing settings. Enable one-time exports, syncs or both on the same Append setup instead of saving that tab again. Other tabs in the spreadsheet can have their own export setups.
The card
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| OK | The last run worked. |
| Running | A run is in progress. |
| Waiting for approval | Check the first-run preview and approve it. Daily runs wait until then. |
| Failed | The reason and the fix are on the card. After 3 failed days in a row, it pauses. |
| Paused | Paused by you or after 3 failed days. Press Resume. |
- Change Run daily and its time right on the card.
- Edit, or the gear beside a saved destination in the Export menu, opens that destination’s settings. An existing export’s spreadsheet, tab and header row stay fixed; create another saved destination for a different target. You can edit its column selection and order. Saved Import sources and header rows remain editable.
- Recent runs opens the card in Settings → Import/Export. Filter by run type and scroll through the history. Open a run for its results and any rows available to download.
- Append sync settings include deliberate recovery or resend options. One-time exports need no resend choice: they send the rows you selected every time. Mirror Sync has no date-based resend process.
What keeps your sheet safe
- An Append or Mirror puts a Google warning on the ID column (on the whole tab for a Mirror) and grays the header. You can still edit; Google asks first. If you remove a warning, the card offers Restore warnings. An Import never changes the sheet.
- Sorting is safe. Rows are found by their ASIN.so ID.
- If a column an Import reads is missing from every tab, the run stops before importing anything and names the column. A tab missing it is skipped and listed on the card.
- An Append writes by position, column A first. If their sheet's columns are moved, check the order in Edit.
- A Mirror needs a tab of its own. An Import and an Append can share a tab.
- An Import never reads a tab that holds a Mirror.
- ASIN.so coordinates imports and exports so a workbook import does not read halfway through an ASIN.so export. A busy spreadsheet may need to finish its current operation before another begins. Changes made directly in Google Sheets or by your own scripts are outside this coordination.
- Background exports wait when Google request capacity is busy. Multiple schedules can share the same time; the server paces their requests, so a scheduled time is a start target rather than a guaranteed completion time.
Tip: The prep center loop, if their sheet can have an ASIN.so ID column: Append your Bought purchases to it, then add an Import on the same tab that reads Received, Damaged and tracking numbers. See Keep your prep center sheet up to date.
Note: Saved sheet settings and sync controls are for the account owner. Team members with the Export switch can use saved destinations for one-time exports.
